The Action Democratic Party, ADP Youth Frontiers is saddened by the senseless killing of 13 worshipers with 20 others in critical condition on Sunday of the St Patrick Catholic church Ozubulu, Anambra State. Our hearts goes to all the families, members of the church, and members of the community, the entire people and government of Anambra State.
The killings inside the house of God, once again shows that the forces of evil would go to any length in carrying out their barbaric actions. They do not fear God neither do they respect his holy places of worship.
The terrible state of lack of adequate security and late response of security agencies to crime scenes makes the need of community policing ever more needed. When members of a community are responsible for policing their area, it is easier to identify criminals and suspicious persons that enter and leave at any time.
This evil act coupled with the high rate of kidnapping in the country especially the trending one of kidnapping school children from their hostels mostly in Lagos and the killings of university students in Bornu and Adamawa states inside their campuses makes the need for electronic security ever more urgent.
It should become mandatory for institutions, whether government, religious or educational to begin to install CCTVs inside and outside their environments to check crime. This will go a long way in complementing the effort of the security agencies especially in investigating and tracking down criminals.
We call on Nigerians to support the victims’ support fund set up by the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi and to show solidarity to the family, the church and the community.
The ADP Youth Frontiers have a firm believe that soon, Nigeria will be on the path of glory and a nation we can all be proud of.
Once again, we say sorry for the loss and know that right here, we are with you, we share your pain, and we cry with you, we mourn with you. And we believe God will remember your dead in the resurrection.
Long Live Ozubulu
Long Live Anambra State
Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Earlier on Monday the Action Democratic Party in a statement by the party’s National Chirman, Engr Y.Y Sanni, said the crime was a direct recipe of the misrule and irresponsible government we have in the country, which gives less priority to the security of lives and property of the people.
“The Action Democratic Party (ADP) condemn in a strong term, the barbaric and heinous crime perpetrated by some wicked souls who went berserk to unleash an untold havoc on the Church worshipers at St. Patrick Catholic Church Ozubulu in Anambra State, leading to the death of many people while several others sustained injuries.
“As part of our yearning, we believe that Nigeria and Nigerians should be safe and secure at all times irrespective of their location. The crime was a direct recipe of the misrule and irresponsible government we have in the country, which gives less priority to the security of lives and property of the people,.
“The information at our disposal has it that, it was a drug war between some indigenes of the community. Our belief is that, if we have a responsible government that works for the common good of all Nigerians, such deadly attack would not occur because nothing will ever push our young people into drug if government is alert to its responsibility
“We therefore sympathize with the families of the affected victims, Anambra State Government and the entire people of the state, we urge the state government to ensure that the perpetrators of the crime are made to pay for their crime and justice served accordingly.
“We urge the police and the entire security forces to bring the actors involved in the crime to book in record time because justice must prevail, as we would not want a justice that is delayed which may lead to a denied justice.
“We also urge them to double their efforts in the protection of lives and property in Anambra State and other States of Nigeria because lives of every citizen is so precious. “Furthermore, we urge all Nigerians to be steadfast in demanding for good governance and eschew all form of divisive statement as our unity must be protected at all times.”
