FORMER TARABA GOVERNOR JOLLY NYAME BAGS 28 YEARS PRISON SENTENCE FOR CORRUPTION
Former governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Nyame was yesterday sentenced to 28 years in prison for corruption bringing to an end the legal battle which started in 2007 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC led by Mallam Nuhu Ribadu under the Obasanjo administration.
In a ruling by an Abuja High Court judge, Justice Adebukola Banjoko, Nyame a clergy man breached the trust reposed in him by the indigenes of the state when he misappropriated 250 million naira which he approved purportedly for the purchase of stationary for the state but is found to have no intention to fulfilling the purpose.
The court held that a total of 180 million was diverted to the bank account of Salman Global Services which provided no services for the state.
