EDO STATE GOVERNMENT DEBUNKS RUMOUR IT ASK ALL EDO INDIGENES IN ITALY TO RETURN HOME
The Edo State government today debunked allegation the state governor Godwin Obaseki went to Italy to sign an agreement with the Italian government asking all Edo People leaving in Italy to return home.
Speaking this morning on the programme ‘Man Around Town’ monitored on ITV radio, Benin City, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly Dr. Justin Okonoboh and Commissioner of Communication and Orientation led by Paul Ohonbamu said what the governor said was those who don’t have anything doing in Italy to return.
The commissioner said it was wrong to spread such unfounded rumour concerning the governor. He said the governor couldn’t have asked Edo indigenes who have legal papers and are doing well in Italy to abandon their businesses to return to Nigeria.
The government officials said the governor couldn’t go to Libya because Libya is a failed state and there would be no known group to discuss with so he had to go to the destination where Nigerians especially Edo people.
