ATTENTION FED. MINISTRY OF WORKS: BENIN-LAGOS ROAD NEEDS A DRAINAGE SYSTEM

NEWS 89

Motorists, commuters and pedestrians go through pains any day it rains in Benin and days after due to the volume of stagnate water at the Benin=Lagos road. While the Uselu axis is yearly, the Isiohor axis just after the University of Benin and directly in front of the S and T Barrack is recent and a sad tale.

The stagnate water around the area came to fore after the adjoining streets raised up the edges of their entrance due to water flooding their streets. Unconfirmed report said the flooding was as a result of a blockade by the barrack to stop the flooding on their end.

No matter the reason, if their was a good drainage system on both sides of the road, water could have been directed to the right place. Erosion is almost washing away some surrounding communities especially Ekosodin.
