The Action Democratic Party Youth Forum on Saturday 10th March, 2018 held its maiden Leadership summit at the Akin Deko Auditorium University of Benin.

The Summit which was hosted by the founder and National coordinator of the youth forum, a youth support group within the mega party, Ogaga Onokwakpor, was themed ” A United and Prosperous Nigeria – A Reality”.

While giving his welcome address, encouraged the youths to have hope in Nigeria and join in making Nigeria a country they could all be proud of. He shared some experiences of Nigerians living abroad that shows that life is not all rosy any where in the world.

He urged the youths to make positive use of the opportunity provided by technology to great a means of livelihood for themselves rather than consider committing suicide or taking the risk of crossing into Europe illegally through Libya.


On his part the Edo State Chairman of the ADP who spoke on the theme called on the youths to be part of the electoral process in making things right in terms of leadership. The chairman Mr. Gabriel Oloruntobi said he has travels to many nations and also studied their histories and found out many of them passed even through worst times than Nigeria but today are doing great.

According Mr. Oloruntobi, most of our youths in southern Nigeria are less concerns about the electoral process and it affects the quality of leadership produced in the country. He enjoined them to get registered for elections and obtain their permanent voters cards.

He said a United and prosperous Nigeria is a reality as the nation was only passing through a phase. He encouraged the delegates to believe on a one united Nigeria.

On his party, the National Youth Leader of the ADP Prince Ephraim Edebor enjoined the youths to believe in their future. He recalled that the founding fathers of the nation were young at the time and said if they could then so could the youths of today be ax part of the process for a new Nigeria.

Other highlight of the event was the presentation of a new book written by Mr. Ogaga Onokwakpor, the founder and National Coordinator of the ADP Youth Forum. The book titled ‘ 50 Ways to survive in Nigeria As an Unemployed Graduate and Other blog collections’ was reviewed and presented by Dr. BODE Steve Ekundayo a senior lecturer with the Department of English and Literature of the University of Benin.

10 students were awarded scholarship for next session by Mr. Ogaga and he also awarded a free skills acquisition training to 61 students.
